Wyoming Arts Alliance
Welcome to Wyoming Arts Alliance
Our conference:The Wyoming Arts Alliance is pleased to announce that our annual Block Booking Conference will be in Sheridan Wyoming and take place on Saturday, October 3rd at the historic WYO Theater.
WyAA convenes presenters, artists, and art organizations from around the state, as well as our neighbors in surrounding states, in order to achieve our goal of bringing the best in arts programming to the region. 2015 will have a direct focus on exhibit space where networking and hospitality come together in one room.
Artists can share their work with presenters of all sizes.
Presenters have the opportunity to access artists in a variety of fields to fit a wide range of programming needs and budgets.
The Wyoming Arts Alliance Annual Block Booking Conference is an important opportunity for artists interested in reaching the emerging market of presenting opportunities in Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Utah and other contiguous areas which Wyoming presenters seek to build block booking opportunities. The WyAA Block Booking Conference observes the need to provide a wide range of genres to meet the needs of our presenting members’ interests. We endeavor to fulfill certain genre guidelines in our selection process. Up to ten performing artists will be selected to showcase in the main theater. A new feature this year will be an afterhours showcase, which artists can use this call to apply.
Showcase Performances:We are offering performers a 12 minute excerpt of their work, with a goal of a 3 minute turnover/tech time (max 5min). Each showcase will be 15 minutes in length, which includes load in and load out time.
Application: Performing artists who intend to showcase in the main theater, should complete this online application, upload a performance sample that must represent work that you intend to tour, and a one sheet on outreach. Artistic samples must represent artist/company’s work, two one minute clips or one two minute clip. If possible samples should show a performance work sample rather than a promotional video or commercial. You Tube links are acceptable but keep in mind only the first two minutes will be reviewed. Afterhours showcase artist applications should also try to meet the above criteria. Preference in this category will go to local and/or independent musicians. Please be aware that WyAA would like to promote artist showcases via our YouTube Channel, website, promotional video and therefore, may place a sample provided there. Again, please choose links that best represent the material you will be showcasing.
The Wyoming Arts Alliance also strongly supports block booking with artists who may provide educational and community outreach/residency activities, in addition to public performances. Therefore, WyAA is requesting an example of community engagement or educational outreach.
Please do not send in press kits or paper photos.
